Sebastian Vettel, the defending Formula 1 champion finally registered Red Bull Racing's first win for this year by winning the much talked about Bahrain F1 Grand Prix. The German driver did everything right during Saturday's qualifying to get to pole position.

Starting from pole position was an advantage, Sebastian Vettel made best use of. He had some close racing moments with Finnish driver Kimi Raikonen who finished second. Kimi Raikonen races for Lotus. R Grosgean from Lotus completed the podium position with third place.

Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber finished fourth followed by Mercedes' Nico Rosberg. Force India driver Paul Di Resta finished sixth fetching his team 8 valuable points. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso had to be satisfied with seventh position followed by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton in eighth.

Sebastian Vettel, with this win in the Bahrain Grand Prix, has taken the lead in the Formula 1 championship with 53 points. McLarens Lewis Hamilton with three podium finishes is now behind Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel's Victory marks an end to a long controversial weekend with cries from the public to stop the racing event. Protests outside the race venue resulted in huge vacant spaces in the stands. The Bahraian F1 Grand Prix on its own was quite exciting but the lack of a full audience in the grand stand was very noticeable.

Red Bull Racing had been struggling to get back to winning ways until yesterday's race. The defending team had some reliability issues which appear to have been solved considering Sebastian Vettel's car completed the F1 race without any issue.
