New Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Unveiled
Rolls-Royce has unveiled yet another new luxury car in the form of the extended wheel base version of the Series II Phantom sedan at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show. The British luxury carmaker chose to launch the latest in the Series II line of Phantoms in its biggest market China.
Rolls-Royce had unveiled the Phantom Series II at the Geneva Auto Show by displaying the sedan, coupe and convertible variants. The new Rolls-Royce Phantom's extended wheel base version will now be the major attraction in Rolls-Royce's display area in the auto show.
Speaking about the new car, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said: “ I am proud to present our new benchmark of automotive luxury in China. No other luxury product comes close to Phantom Extended Wheelbase in staging an object of exquisite beauty, effortless opulence and grand theatre. I am delighted that our discerning Chinese clients continue to value Phantom Extended Wheelbase so highly. And with the changes for Series II I am confident that it will continue to retain its position at the very pinnacle of the ultra-luxury goods marketplace for many years to come.”
The Phantom Series II is the first real update to the Phantom's design since its launch in 2003. Many of the changes are so subtle that only an ardent Phantom lover can identify them. Apart from the design, the new Rolls-Royce also features improved drive-train and technology.
The frontal look of the new Phantom has new LED headlights. The new technologies that you will see in this new rolls will be a new driver assistance feature, modern user interface, redesigned media controller with 8.8 inch touch screen display, satnav etc.
Rolls-Royce has claimed the new Series II Phantom will sip 10% less fuel thanks to its new eight speed automatic gearbox paired with its massive V12 engine.
