The 2012 UK spec i20 Fluidic hatchback gets a brand new 3 cylinder 1.1 Liter common rail turbo diesel engine which produces a peak power of 74 Bhp and a peak torque of 152 Nm.
The small powertrain comes with a variable geometry turbocharger and a balancer shaft to control the vibes. The i20 BlueDrive also features an intelligent Start-stop system and low rolling resistance tires.
The 1.1 Diesel is expected to come to India nearly considering the demand of fuel efficient diesel cars in the recent times. The i20 is already offered with a diesel engine in India, it would be interesting to see if the carmaker provides the company's highest selling i10 hatchback with the highly fuel efficient 1.1 Liter U-II CRDI diesel engine.
