Ford EcoSport Images Released Before Beijing Debut
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV's production ready images have been released by Ford. The carmaker is set to display the car at the Beijing auto show that will start om 23rd April. Ford's first compact SUV set to be launched in India has will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. Although the EcoSport was unveiled first at the Delhi Auto Expo in January, the design was considered only as a concept.
Much of the design featured in the EcoSport Unveiled in Delhi have been retained in the production version. To be powered by a 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine, Ford has claimed the engine will deliver high performance along with low fuel consumption. The Ecoboost engine features advanced turbocharging technology, direct injection, improved twin variable camshaft design and intelligent ancillaries to deliver top quality performance.
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV is based on the platform of the Fiesta global sedan. However, Ford has managed to keep the length lower than four metres making it eligible for lower excise duty. We can expect the EcoSport to be priced slightly below the Fiesta.
The EcoSport has started a new trend of sorts in the Indian car market. It was the first compact SUV seen in India and its launch is being awaited by many people who are looking at a compact car with SUV like looks, road presence and performance.
What we can deduce from the EcoSport's images is that Ford has completed all necessary changes to the design. The look is subtle when compared to the car displayed in Delhi. The Ecoboost engine will be the most important aspect of this compact SUV. If it delivers the performance and mileage as claimed by Ford, the American carmaker has a winner in its hands.
