Skoda Auto Revises Price List Post Budget

The season of price hikes continues with more carmakers announcing renewed price lists following the union budget for 2012-13. The increased excise duty on cars built in India and the higher customs charged on imported cars has resulted in all carmakers passing on the burden to the consumer.

It is now Skoda Auto's turn who has revealed that it has increased prices of its entire product range. The most notable price hike is that of the Superb premium sedan. Skoda has increased the Superb's price by Rs.94,000 taking its price to Rs. 19.6 lakhs.

But the price hike that will affect more car buyers is that of the Fabia hatchback. Skoda's entry level car is now dearer by Rs.14,000. The recently launched Rapid sedan will see its price increased by Rs. 15,000. The entry level petrol variant of the Rapid will now cost Rs.6.9 lakhs.

The Skoda Laura, executive sedan's price has been increased by Rs.32,000 bringing its initial price tag to Rs.12.9 lakhs. Skoda Auto's premium SUV Yeti will be costlier by Rs. 43,000 and its starting price will now be Rs.13.9 lakhs.
