Renault Koleos Transformed From SUV To MPV!

It seems that French carmaker Renault is going the Tata Aria way. Reports say that the carmaker's Koleos SUV is shedding its SUV tag and is being transformed into an off-roader MPV alike the Tata Aria. The concept version of the 2012 Koleos MPV was displayed at the recently concluded Geneva International Motor Show with the name R-Space concept.

The R-Space offers plenty of style and feature suicide rear doors. The new Koleos is expected to hit the market in between 2014-15.

The current Koleos sold in the Indian market was launched in September last year. The SUV is powered by a 1,995cc engine with maximum power of 150bhp and a peak torque of 320N and has a starting price of Rs 22,99 lakh (ex showrom Delhi). The Koleos competes with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, The Chevrolet Captiva and Mitsubishi Pajero in the Indian market.

The Tata Aria, which was launched a year back was much criticized for being a product of no demand and its hefty price tag. Let's wait and see if Renault's plans succeed by bringing the Aria-like Koleos to the market.
