Lamborghini SUV To Be Called Urus; Beijing Debut

Chinese automobile website chinacartimes.com has stated that Lamborghini has named its SUV as Urus. The SUV will be displayed in Public for the first time during the Beijing Auto Show. However it has already been shown to prospective customers in the US in New York.
Lamborghini announced it would be developing a new premium SUV early last year. The decision was taken following the positive response it received for the Estoque concept car, Lamborghini's first front engines four door sedan.
Many people had expected Lamborghini would follow Porsche and build a sedan in the lines of the Panamera. However, the Italian carmaker decided to do what Porsche did with the Cayenne and started developing a Premium SUV. According to reports, the Lamborghini Urus has been built on the same platform as the Audi Q7, Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Bentley's new concept SUV.
Unnamed sources say the Lamborghini Urus will be powered by 5.2-litre V10 engine found in the Gallardo sports car. This V10 engine can generate a whopping 600bhp pretty much in sync with Lamborghini's brand image of building powerful and mad super cars.
The 2012 Beijing Auto Show will be the place to be if you want to see Lamborghini's first SUV in two decades. It is not the first SUV built by Lamborghini. It had previously built the LM002 which was sold as a military vehicle but found very few buyers.
