High End Car Logos Are Now Thieves' Target

A new kind of car theft is being reported from the city of Mangalore in Karnataka. Car thieves are now targeting the logos of high end cars such as BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and Skoda. Cars parked in public areas are the most likely victims of this logo thefts.

The car logos are not locally available as premium carmakers do not source them locally. Car owners have to shell out thousands of rupees to get a replacement. They also need to wait for a long time to get them too. Car dealers will have to import them from the country of origin.

A report on cartradeindia.com has stated that most of the thieves robbing car logos were students. There have been no police complaints against them and police have not conducted any investigations. The report also states there could be an extensive network that is handling the car logo thefts.

These thieves are trying to sell these logos to even scrap yards. Do not be surprised to see vendors selling logos of premium cars on the pavement. If you are getting it for a low price, let us assure you it is a fake. But if some one demands a high price, then it Is definitely a stolen logo.

Car logo thefts have been reported in Mumbai too. The cases are so rampant that car users have now started a special Facebook page where people can report such instances. People have posted images of cars without logos. They have also said that the logo that was most likes by thieves belonged to Skoda.
