Nissan Set To Unveil New Altima In New York

Nissan Altima
The American car market has been dominated by powerful sedans build by GM, Ford and Chrysler on one side and Sleek fuel efficient sedans from Japanese carmakers such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan. One such Japanese sedan that got rave reviews during its launch has been the Nissan Altima. Its design and performance along with its value blew away competition when it was launched in 2007.

The Altima has spent five years in its current avatar and during this time its competitors such as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord have had updates and changes. This made the Altima a little old when compered with its peers and Nissan has decided to change that soon by unveiling the fourth generation Nissan Altima at the forthcoming New York Auto Show.

This D-segment sedan is likely to be powered by the same 2.5-litre V6 engine found I the current model. But the difference will be in the styling and performance. One cannot discount the possibility of the Altima getting a hybrid powertrain too.

Nissan which takes pride in the design of its cars has provided a sneak peek at the new Altima through three teaser videos on its you tube video channel.
