Maruti Suzuki Relaunches Old DZire As DZire Tour

What has compelled Maruti Suzuki to retain the old Swift is the huge potential it sees for the old model in the fleet and taxi market. In fact the DZire tour will only be sold to taxi and fleet operators once it is commercially launched in April.
The Swift DZire Tour is essentially a stripped down version of the DZire LXI and DZire LDI ( the entry level variants of the previous generation DZire). AC and power steering are some of the standard features available in the DZire tour. Visually, the Tour will only have rear and front bumpers, outside rear-view mirrors and door handles in black.
According to Autocar India, the DZire Tour's price has been set lower than even the Tata Indigo XL. The petrol variant will be priced at Rs.4.88 lakhs and the diesel variant costing Rs.5.91 lakhs.(all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
Model Diesel Petrol
Maruti Dzire Tour Rs 5.91 lakh Rs 4.88 lakh
Tata Indigo XL Rs 5.91 lakh Rs 6.29 lakh
Toyota Etios Rs 6.69 lakh Rs 5.14 lakh
Mahindra Verito Rs 5.97 lakh Rs 5.04 lakh
