Tata Motors March Group Global Sales Up 26%

Tata Motors continues to deliver globally. The Indian carmaker has posted an impressive 26% increase in global sales for the month of April thanks to the improved performance by Tata's British premium brands Jaguar and Land Rover.

The Indian carmaker in its report has stated that it sold 1,39,655 vehicles in March 2012 eclipsing the March 2011's sales by 26%. Further. Tata Motors global sales for the financial year ending March 2012 also improved by a sizable 16% with 2,52,173 unit sales.

Tata Motors continues to be a dominant player in the commercial vehicle space with its Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera brands. These three brands delivered cumulative sales of 5,99,927 units registering a 17% increase this financial year.

On the passenger vehicle front, Tata Motors has reported that sales increased by a massive 41% to 75,864 units in March 2012. However the sales growth for passenger vehicles for the whole year was 14% with 652,246 units sold.

Jaguar Land Rover have gained in sales by as much as 51 per cent with 36,471 units. Jaguar's sales in March stood at 5,343 units up 42% while Land rover buoyed by the success of the Evoque delivered 31,128 sales marking a 53% increase.

Jaguar Land Rover's sales for the financial year stood at 314,433 units registering a 29% increase. Jaguar's sales was up by a marginal 2% while Land Rover continued its impressive sales performance with a 37% growth at 260,394 units.
