There Is Scope For Renault-Dacia Lodgy In India

French carmaker Renault's subsidiary Dacia which makes affordable cars, mostly seen in eastern European market, had unveiled the Lodgy MPV at the recently concluded Geneva International Motor Show. The Lodgy will soon go on sale in the European market and we believe this low cost car can be a success if it enters the Indian market in the near future.

The Lodgy MPV will be a suitable car for the Indian market as it provides loads of cabin space, large equipment list with economical diesel engines. It is a 7-seater MPV with an overall length of just 4.7m and a price tag that is affordable and easy to use.

The Lodfy will be available with four engine options and the powertrain that is liked to be seen in the Indian market is the 1.5 dCI engine, available with two power outputs, a 91PS one and a more powerful 111PS version.

Currently the only MPVs available in India are the Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 and the Mahindra Xylo. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is expected to enter the market soon. It is quite clear that the Renault-Dacia Lodgy will give a tough competition to its rivals with its high build quality, large equipment list and value for money proposition if it comes to India.
