Tata Motors Global Sales Up Again In February

Tata Motors continues to reap the rewards of its international acquisitions – Jaguar and Land Rover. While many questioned Tata Motors attempts to buy two loss making international brands, The Indian carmaker has consistently proved doubters wrong by making profits and improving sales over the months.

The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 127,318 units, in February 2012, higher by 24% over February 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 1,112,518, higher by 15% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

Global sales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range -- were 57,857 units, in February 2012, highest ever in a month and a growth of 24%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 536,136 units, a growth of 18%.

Global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 69,461 units in February 2012, higher by 25%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 576,382 units, higher by 11%. Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were at 37,204 units, for the month, higher by 9% over February 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are at 298,420 units

Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in February 2012 were at 32,257 vehicles, higher by 49% over February 2011, driven by the Range Rover Evoque and the 12MY Jaguar product. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,228 units, higher by 32%, while Land Rover sales were 28,029 units, best ever in a month and higher by 52%.

Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal are 277,962 units, higher by 27%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 48,696 units, lower by 1%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 229,266 units, higher by 35%.
