New SUVs To Be Launched In Beijing Auto Show

The Beijing Auto Show will be the event to watch out for among car lovers and carmakers alike. It will provide a vision of how the car industry will be in the coming years looking at the sheer number of new car launches lined up. While many would think the new car launches will most likely be new small cars, it is actually the SUVs that will grab most eyeballs.

Just the following names will bring out a cheer among cars fans. Lamborghini's first SUV in two decades, Ford's production version EecoSport, Porsche Cayenne GTS and a new AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.

Lamborghini is set to unveil the concept version of its SUV. No details about its name are available as of now. It has been built o the same platform used to build the Audi Q7. The exterior design is expected to be in line with the Lamborghini Gallardo. Reports say it will be powered by a massive 6.2-litre engine and it will be the world's fastest SUV.

Another car looking to become the fastest SUV as well will be the Porsche Cayenne GTS that will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. This new Porsche Cayenne will be getting a larger V8. Porsche will use some of the styling cues from its two seater sports car in the Cayenne GTS. The engine will be paired with an eight speed PDK transmission and the Porsche Cayenne GTS can get to 100kmph from 0 in just 5.4 seconds. The top speed of the premium SUV will be higher than the Cayenne S by 3kmph.

Mercedes-Benz is also preparing for a shocker through its AMG division. Its classic box SUV the G-Wagen gets another trip through AMG's garage and is expected to get a major power up. The AMG G-Wagen will get a massive 620bhp V12 engine. It is clear that5 Mercedes is aiming at having the most powerful SUV tag.

There will also be a slightly underpowered version of the AMG G-Wagen which will be equipped with a 544bhp V8. Mercedes will also display the regular G350 CDI as well as the G500 V8 for some one who does not need the insane amounts of power.

While the Porsche Cayenne GTS and the G-Wagen might reach Indian showrooms in a few months time, the car that will matter the most is the Ford EcoSport. Ford is expected to unveil the production version of its Compact SUV in Beijing. Aimed at growing markets like India, the Ecosport is expected to boost Ford's performance in India.
