Ford Opens 45 New Showrooms in 35 Cities In 1 Day
Speaking on this momentous occasion, ford Motor India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said: “ We will continue our growth commitment in India with the launching new outlets every 10 days." Ford is planning to launch eight new models in India out of which it has already launched the Fiesta and unveiled the EcoSport compact SUV. It intends to launch the remaining six now models by 2015.
Ford has a history of opening several new showrooms in a single day. It had opened 26 showrooms exactly two years ago. The event was marked by the launch of the Figo hatchback. While many expected Ford to follow the same tradition today by launching the EcoSport, the American carmaker has disappointed many by only opening its new showrooms.
The carmaker has said that 40% of the new ford showrooms have been opened in Tier II and Tier II cities indicating Ford's efforts to widen its customer base. The number of Ford showrooms in India has increased to 230 in 123 cities.
Ford will launch the EcoSport later this year. It has got an overwhelming response according to Mr Boneham and the carmaker is making aggressive plants to launch its commercial sales.
