Tata Gearing Up For Nano Launch In US
Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata said in an interview, “The Nano launched in the US within the next two or three years will be a new-and-improved version of the so-called "world's cheapest car."
The Nano which will be sold in the US will be slightly wider and equipped with modern safety equipments like advanced breaking system. The Nano will also have an electric version in the US. ''It will be a full car,'' Rata Tata was quoted as saying before adding, ''$7000 is still an attractive price.''
The Tata Nano was first launched in India in 2009 at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.5 lakh, but the car has not tasted as much success as much as Tata Motors expected.
