Maruti Suzuki To Hire 500 More Workers

Maruti Suzuki Workers
Maruti Suzuki India has plans to hire 500 new workers at its plant in Manesar. Manesar has two production units with the second one being opened late last year. This unit is crucial for Maruti as it builds the diesel cars that are selling like hotcakes.

Maruti Suzuki requires more workers this year as it has decided to increase production of diesel cars by half. Demand for cars such as the Swift and Swift DZire are high with long waiting lists. The company wants to reduce this by building more cars at a quicker pace.

Maruti Suzuki is also building a third unit in Manesar which will become operational in a few months.
Confirming that the carmaker needed 500 workers, Maruti Suzuki India Managing Executive Officer (Administration) S Y Siddiqui said: “ We need more workers at Manesar for the Plant B. We will hire about 500 people for this by the end of this fiscal.”

Maruti Suzuki requires qualified technicians, engineers and the hiring process is expected to begin in a few months time. The company is currently negotiating with its workers in Gurgaon on wages and will begin the process in Manesar in a month's time. We expect the new hiring will happen only after the wage negotiations are completed at Manesar.
