Ford To Open 45 showrooms On Feb 16th
Ford has been a successful carmaker in India but it has not been able to compete greatly with market leaders such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors. It is keen to expand its dealer network so that it can boost its customer reach.
Further Ford intends to provide its customers with efficient service facilities along with necessary equipment to boost its image. The new showrooms will highlight Ford's current line up of cars which includes the Figo, Fiesta, Fiesta Classic and Endeavour.
This is not the first time Ford has opened so many showrooms in one day. 28 new ford showrooms were opened in 2010. But the event was highlighted by the launch of the new Ford Figo. It is yet unclear if Ford will hold another new model launch to showcase its new showrooms.
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV is the most anticipated new model from Ford. It was unveiled at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and was the centre of attraction at Ford's Stall. Based on the same platform as the Fiesta, the EcoSport is expected to deliver the performance of an SUV with the price of a Sedan. The EcoSport should be priced between Rs.8 lakhs and Rs.11 lakhs when it hits the market.
