Skoda To Launch Low Priced Superb This Month

The Superb is Skoda's flagship sedan in India and it is facing increasing competition from the new Sonata. With Toyota also planning to launch an updated Camry, the executive sedan market is set for a strong tussle. With pricing being one of the crucial factor even in the executive sedan segment, Skoda believes a cheaper Superb will be an ideal way of beating competition.
The new low priced Skoda Superb is expected to be launched on 18th April. The variant will be named as ambition, similar to the entry level variants of the Fabia and Rapid. Expected to be priced between Rs.17 Lakhs and Rs.19 lakhs, this variant can pose a serious challenge to any executive sedan.
The Skoda Superb Ambition will be powered by a 2.0 litre TSI diesel engine and a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine. The diesel engine can generate 140bhp and 320Nm of torque while the petrol pot can deliver 160bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The Skoda Superb Ambition will not have many standard features. The electric sunroof, touch screen multi media system, blue tooth, hill hold and hill descent, bi-xenon headlights are some of the things that will be missing in the standard equipment list. However safety features such as driver and front passenger airbags, anti-lock braking with EBD will be available.
