Vendors Charging Heavily To Remove Sun Films

But private vendors are taking advantage of car owner's urgency to remove sun films soon and are charging Rs. 500 to Rs. 800. Many people do not even know that this service can be availed free at any of the ten camps organized by the Bangalore traffic police.
The private vendors are charging different prices depending on the size of a car. Small cars and hatchbacks are being charged Rs. 500 while bigger sedans are being charged Rs. 600. The removal of sun films is being done in a very arbitrary manner. The police as well as the vendors are not using any equipment to determine the transparency of the windows and windshields. One of the traffic police that this writer spoke to stated that there was no clear regulation on what kind of sun films were allowed and hence they were removing all sun films.
We noticed that many people who had come for the removal of sun films at a camp organized by the traffic police were unhappy with the way the police were going about removing the sun films. One car owner was complaining about the careless way in which the wind shields were scratched using blades to remove the tinted glass. The police on their part have stated that they had too many cars to handle and today being a Saturday, the number of cars were higher requiring them to work faster.
