Tata Motors Increases Car Prices By Rs.12,000

Tata Motors Price Hike
Tata Motors has announced a sharp increase in its car prices that will be effective from yesterday itself. The Indian carmaker has said two models will be exempted from the price hike. The Tata Nano and the Aria MUV's price will not be increased.

Tata Motors in its statement has said the price hike will be ranging between Rs.7,000 lakhs and Rs.12,000. The reason for the price hike as stated by the company is increasing input costs. Tata Motors joins Maruti Suzuki, General Motors and Toyota among other carmakers who have increased prices due to high input costs

While Maruti Suzuki increased prices of its diesel cars, General Motors increased prices of its best selling Beat, Spark, Cruze and Tavera. GM did not change the price s of its Aveo, Aveo UVA, Optra and Captiva SUV.

Tata Motors is the country's largest vehicle manufacturer. It is the maker of the Indica, one of the highest selling taxis. The new price hike will mean buyers of the Indica, Safari and the Indigo Manza will have to shell out much more than they usually did.
