Bangalore Traffic Police Seize DLs From Offenders

Bangalore Traffic Police
The increasing number of traffic rule violations in Bangalore seems to have made the city traffic police take drastic steps. The Bangalore traffic police have seized as many as 1,317 driving licenses of serious traffic offenders in the past three months.

Traffic police have increased monitoring of offenses in major junctions. Many traffic constables have been provided with digital cameras to take images of people breaking traffic rules such as jumping signals, driving without helmet, using mobile etc.

The police have now sent the seized driving licenses to RTO offices across the city to have them canceled. Many people who would think they can escape from traffic offenses just by paying a fine now need to think otherwise, especially in Bangalore.

The police appear to have lost their patience to control the number of traffic violations. Warnings, advertisements supporting safe driving and other awareness creating programmes have not been able to reduce the number of people breaching traffic rules. This has forced the police to take drastic measures such as seizing and canceling driving licenses.

It is always better to have a driving license rather than taking the risk of jumping a red light or speaking on the phone while driving. Bangalore traffic police has been in touch with the people through its Facebook fan page and readers can get more updates there too.
