Nissan Sunny Ends 2011 With 44% Sales Hike

Out of the 1,596 units, Nissan Micra, the made-in-India Global compact hatchback leads the sales figures with 1,036 units in December 2011. SUNNY sedan accounted for 533 of the December total, which includes 27 units of the Diesel variant launched last month. The company has sold 3,663 units of Sunny since sales began in September 2011. The X-TRAIL - lifestyle SUV, Teana - premium sedan and iconic 370Z sports car comprise of the remaining sales.
Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said: “With the launch of the Sunny Diesel variant, we are on track to achieve the targeted sales performance despite the difficult market conditions in India. The Sunny Diesel will further boost our continued growth in India and together with our entire product range, we are confident of accelerating our progress in the Indian market."
Nissan is very optimistic about the Sunny diesel delivering more sales during this new year. The demand for diesel cars, along with the popularity of the Sunny's petrol variant will make the Sunny diesel an irresistible car for any diesel sedan buyer.

SUNNY is now also available in the diesel variant through Nissan"s 49 dealerships nationwide, priced at Rs 7, 98,000 (XL) and Rs 8, 78,000 (XV), ex-showroom, New Delhi. The Sunny Diesel, a result of significant inputs from the Indian market and powered by the most notable K9K diesel engine to emerge from the Renault-Nissan alliance, has a fuel efficiency of 21.64 kmpl (ARAI certified) and is ideal both for a city drive as well as for exploring the countryside.
