offer peppy performance with great fuel economy.
The Maruti 800 competes with the likes of Hyundai Eon and the company's own Alto. Earlier, there were reports that Tata is also working on an 800 cc Nano taking the competition to a further level. Nissan-Renault is also reportedly planning to enter the segment with a small car.
Maruti Suzuki had not been selling the 800 in top 13 Indian cities from September 2010 as it couldn't comply with the Bharat Stage IV emissions norms. The car which has seen a lot of updates at times is presently based on the Alto model. Maruti Suzuki has sold over 2.5 million 800s through many generations since its launch.
