Mahindra New Compact Verito Sedan In 2013?
By keeping the Verito's size below 4 meters, Mahindra intends to price the car in a lower range than the full sized sedan due to tax reductions for the sub-4 meter cars. Renault Logan, the Verito as it was earlier called, was being built through a joint venture by French carmaker Renault and Mahindra. Later, the joint venture was terminated and Mahindra took over the rights to build and sell the Logan from Renault.
The Mahindra Verito is popular for its roomy interior and high fuel efficiency. The car has also been a great success in the taxi market. But, we can expect the large boot of the Verito to be short sized in the compact sedan.
The Verito comes with a powerful 1.5 Liter K9K diesel engine which is very frugal. The interior of the car doesn't have high quality materials, but considering the cost of the car, this could be ignored. The diesel variant comes with a starting price of Rs 6.1 lakhs. A petrol model is also available in the market.
The Verito's sales have seen a significant increase in the recent times following its relaunch. We can expect the new compact Verito to be launched sometime in 2012 end or 2013 beginning.
