Jaguar Land Rover, the British luxury brand owned by Indian auto giant Tata Motors, has started its 16th dealership in India. The new showroom is at Madhya Pradesh's Indore with well known dealers Sanghi Bros bagging the deal.

Indore has recently been a luxury car dealership hub with big brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes all setting up their showrooms in the city. Speaking at the event, Jaguar & Land Rover India premier car division head Rohit Suri said the company will add a few more showrooms in the current financial year.

“We opened our first Indian showroom in mid 2009 and initially concentrated on tier 1 cities. We are now moving to other cities and regions. We have rapidly grown to 15 operational dealerships,” Mohit said. Jaguar Land Rover sold 2289 cars during 2011/12 showing a growth of 157 per cent over the previous year.

The new showroom will give customers access to all Jaguar Land Rover range of cars including Jaguar's most fastest and powerful sports car XKR-S. Meanwhile, the company has already started assembling the Land Rover Freelander 2 at its plant in Pune.
