XUV 500 March Sales Surpass All D-segment Sedans
March sales figures of D-segment sedans show that Chevrolet Cruze sold 722 units, Toyota Corolla Altis sold 917 units, Volkswagen Jetta sold 336 cars, Skoda Laura managed 597 units, Honda Civic touched 104 units sales mark and finally Renault Fluence sold 227 units of sale. This all together at 2903 units are still 200 less than Mahindra XUV 500's sales numbers.
This trend also indicates that Indian buyers are moving towards SUVs and crossovers owing to poor Indian road conditions. The XUV 500 offers high ground clearance and is designed keeping Indian conditions in mind. Moreover, the XUV comes with a powerful fuel efficient diesel engine which emits less carbon dioxide.
The demand for the stylish XUV has been on a high since its launch in September last year. Mahindra had been struggling to manufacture more XUVs to cope up with the huge demand of the SUV. The major reason behind the record sales of the XUV is its competitive pricing which starts at range of Rs 11.38 lakhs(ex-showroom Delhi).
