Mahindra Launches Upgraded Thar At Rs 6.86L
Though the Thar is liked by auto enthusiasts for its masculine Jeep-like looks and extreme off-road capability, the SUV has been lacking some of the basic features in its equipment department. The SUV was being offered even without an air conditioner which is a major necessity in Indian conditions. This was a major reason for prospective buyers who were considering the Thar for daily use staying away from it.
Mahindra has responded to this and hence the upgraded Thar. The Thar comes with two engine options, a 2.5 liter DI turbo diesel and the more powerful and cleaner CRDe engine. The Thar CRDe features a 105 Bhp-247 Nm, 2.5 liter common rail turbo diesel engine which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
In a good move, Mahindra has also offered existing Thar owners the up-gradation of AC at authorized Mahindra Service Centres. At present, The Thar enjoys the status of being the only SUV of its kind with no competitors in the Indian market.
The Mahindra Thar has been the go to car for people who enjoy ff road driving. But those who were put of by the summer heat and still wanted to enjoy a long ride on off road terrains can now relax and enjoy the drive in the Thar with cool AC.
