Hyundai Unveils 2013 Santa Fe At NY Motor Show
Besides the styling changes, the new Santa Fe has also grown in its size and is available in two variants, five-seater model named Santa Fe Sport and a 7-seater model. The exterior size of the SUV also reflects the interior space with the 7-seater model receiving more room in the second and third row seats making the car more comfortable for long drives. The large dimensions of the new Santa Fe increases the road presence of the SUV as well.
The Santa Fe comes with two engine choices, a tweaked 2.2 litre diesel engine which offers more fuel economy and less emissions and a smaller 2 litre diesel engine. The 2.2 Liter Gamma turbo diesel engine churns out peak power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 430 Nm while the smaller engine produces 150 PS and 382 Nm of peak torque. The 2 litre engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission while the bigger engine can be availed with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The SUV features a host of standard equipments, safety too is not compromised with the Santa Fe featuring a range of active and passive safety features that include airbags, ABS, ESP, vehicle stability management, lane departure warning system, hill descent control and hill hold. The new Santa Fe SUV is expected to be launched in India sometime in 2013 or at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
