Tata Nano Sales Touch All Time High In March

Tata-Nano
World's cheapest car – Tata Nano is finally gaining confidence among customers. This has been proved when the Nano small car saw massive growth in its sales selling 10,475 units in March. This is the highest ever monthly sales numbers for the Nano small car.

The Nano has not been growing up to the expectations of Tata Motors with poor sales for many months. This comes as a sigh of great relief for the Indian auto giant which needs to sell at least 150,000 Nanos per year to achieve break even from the production plant.

The company's reduced down payment scheme and an attractive discount of up to Rs 20,000 also helped the carmaker attain great sales numbers. The new Nano V2 was introduced by Tata last year with improved power and fuel economy with no price hike.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors is reportedly building a diesel engine for the small car. The carmaker is also manufacturing a left-hand drive model for export to countries such as Africa, South America and South-East Asia. Currently, the car is being sold in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh besides the Indian market.

Tata Motors posted a 20 per cent increase in total vehicle sales for March 2012 after selling 100,414 units. Apart from the Nano, the Indica hatchback and Indigo sedan fared well for the company.
