Maruti Could Build Cheaper Sedan Above Dzire

Maruti Suzuki may build a new sedan that will be placed between the entry-level Swift Dzire and the SX4 mid-level sedan, said reports. The carmaker is reportedly expecting to gain market share in the below Rs 10 lakh car segment.

The new car could be bigger car than the Dzire with more luggage space and could be priced under the SX4 mid-level sedan. Maruti has long been following the strategy of launching different cars with little price difference giving the customers more choice.

Maruti Suzuki currently has the Alto K10, A-Star, WagonR and the Estilo; all somewhat nearly priced. Maruti, by launching a new car in the mid-level sedan market between the SX4 and the Dzire, also might be planning to create a niche market where there are no competitors.

As of now, there is no other information available from Maruti's part. More information could be revealed by the company itself in the coming days.
