BMW Leaks i8 Spyder Concept Before Beijing

The BMW i8 Spyder looks more contemporary that the i8 super car that was seen in Hollywood Hit Mission Impossible 4. The i8 Spyder has the same futuristic exterior design but more importantly the interior is something very much similar to what you would see in any modern BMW.
The fact that the i8 Spyder is a convertible means BMW has removed the two rear seats to accommodate space for the roof. Reports say the i8 Spyder and the i8 will be launched as soon as early 2014. These two cars will join the i3 hatchback in BMW's I branded vehicles.

The technical specifications of the i8 Spyder is similar to the i8. It is powered by the same plug in petrol electric system. The petrol engine churns out 223bhp while the battery powered electric motors can generate 131bhp.
The i8 Spyder is still a concept. But the exterior design is something every car lover would fall for. The design based on the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept has already been appreciated in the i8 and no wonder we like it in the i8 Spyder too.
As far as performance is concerned, the i8 Spyder can sprint to 100kmph from zero in five seconds flat. Since it is a plug in hybrid, you can drive it for about 30 kilometres on electric power alone. The battery can be recharged in two hours. The batteries are also charged while the car is running thanks to the kinetic energy retention system (KERS).
