Toyota To Export Petrol Etios And Liva Only

Toyota Etios Exports
Toyota launched its entry level sedan Etios and hatchback Etios Liva in 2010 and 2011. The two cars received a warm response from buyers. But Toyota saw real success in these two cars only after it launched their diesel variants.

The Japanese carmaker has been planning to export these two cars to other international markets. These two entry level cars are manufactured only in India as they were developed exclusively for the Indian car market.. However the Etios And Etios Liva have shown promise to become international success too triggering Toyota to plan exports to South Africa.

But reports say Toyota Kirloskar will soon begin building the entry level cars for exports. These cars will carry much of the design and features of the Indian version but will have new features to suit the market requirements of the markets they will be exported to.

The Toyota Etios' exports will involve only petrol variants. The demand for diesel variants of the Etios and Etios Liva has been very high in India but the petrol variants have been slow sellers. With South Africa being a right hand drive market, it is easy for the Japanese carmaker to export them without much modification. Toyota has said the Etios Liva will also be exported only with its petrol engine.

Toyota builds the Etios and Etios Liva in its plant in Bangalore. The carmaker has increased production capacity of both the cars from 80,000 units per year to 120,000 units. The increased production will help Toyota export both the cars to other right hand drive markets such as Thailand, Brazil and Malaysia.
