China Welcomes Dragon Year With New RR Phantom

This limited edition luxury car is being sold only in China. The car costs a whopping $1.2 million (Rs.6 crores) as compared to the regular Phantom's price tag of $400,000 (Rs.2 crores). All you get for the additional money is gold painted dragons on the outside and embroidered dragon figures on to the rear seat head rests.
If you thought this is a very expensive car and it will not sell, you are wrong. Roll-Royce has already sold the entire lot of the limited edition Phantom within few weeks of its launch. While some might be surprised that people prefer to buy the more expensive variant of a car, the Chinese I tell you have a very special way of welcoming every new year.
China has emerged as the largest market of Luxury cars overtaking the United States. Rolls-Royce and Bentley, the two top British luxury carmakers have seen their best ever sales years in 2011 only because of high sales in China. With the number of millionaires growing at 33 per cent per year, these luxury carmakers can definitely expect more and more sales.
