Volkswagen To Increase Vento Diesel Variant Price By Rs 20,317
The Volkswagen Vento diesel variant is priced between Rs.7.99 lakh to Rs. 9.24 lakh (ex showroom price, Delhi), while the petrol variant costs Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 9.22 lakh. The Price of the diesel Vento will increase by Rs. 20,317. Prices of diesel cars are usually higher than petrol variants but the recent price hike of petrol has resulted in increased diesel car sales.
Volkswagen India board member of sales, Mr Neeraaj Garg, while speaking to reporters said: “The Vento diesel has been well accepted in the market since its launch in September 2010. We want to continue maintaining the same standard and quality for our customers; however we have seen no relent in the input costs over several months now which has forced us to increase the cost of the Vento."
Volkswagen has said the Vento's increased price will be effective after 30th June. Customers booking the car before this date need not pay the increased price. Volkswagen has also offered customers of the some variants of the petrol powered Vento reduced interest rates of 6.99 per cent from June 2011. The Volkswagen Vento was launched in September 2010 and has been a sales success.
