Volkswagen Routon Minivan Upgraded

Volkswagen's town and country van "Routan" is all set to get some significant upgrades this 2011. The minivan with volkswagen veeDub logo on the hood will get a new fuel efficient engine. And not just that, the Mopar van is also getting some interior improvements. The Volkswagen minivan, recently, was launched at the Detroit auto show.

Volkswagen has reworked on the mopar van's powertrain line up and has replaced the two V-6 engines with new 3.6 liter V6 engine. The minivan, also, is featured with a six-speed automatic transmission that generates 283 hp and a torque of 260 lb-ft. On safety front, the car is upgraded with side airbags and driver knee airbag and an "ECO" button to switch the transmission to a fuel economy oriented mode.

The new minivan exterior is upgraded with a multifunction leather steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, better carpeting, and a light instrument cluster. Volkswagen Routan S (entry level ) is priced at $ 27,750 and Routan SEL is priced at $ 44,060.
