Volkswagen Aqua – A Car For Water, Land And Ice

The Volkswagen Aqua's design has now been short-listed for the CDN Car Design Awards China. The Volkswagen concept is not a car in its entirety. Rather it is a hover craft that looks like a car. The Volkswagen Aqua has multiple engines and the primary engine pushes pressurised air under the car. The main engine is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The Aqua is propelled by fans powered by secondary electric motors on either side. Such an arrangement will make this an all terrain vehicle. It can skim over sand, water and ice without much fuss.
Zhang has provided the Volkswagen Aqua a simple and clean exterior design that also helps in improving its aerodynamics. The interior design is also has a minimalistic feel to it. With space for two individuals, this Volkswagen concept can be considered more as a recreational vehicle rather than a practical everyday vehicle. Moreover, this design does not accommodate a proper door making ingress and egress a real headache.
The all terrain vehicle is an indication of how future cars will be designed. Vehicles that can travel on any surface making allowing transport across different terrains in one vehicle.
