Toyota Liva, an alternative for Etios

As of now, there are 18500 bookings for Etios. To meet the situation, the company is exploring all possibilities, said its Deputy MD for sales and marketing. With an investment of Rs3200 crore, the company"s Bangalore facility will be upgraded for increased production of Etios , he added. In all the facility will be designed to yield 70000 units of the combined Etios and Liva for this year. He further said the company engineers are making all out efforts to ease the production and prompt delivery of Etios and a final picture would arise in February.
The facility is capable of delivering 2 lakh annual units and the strategies are being developed to increase the production gradually. The company is taking advantage with the two products to stabilize its share in the Indian car market. Its current share stands at a single digit and is aiming for a minimum 10% to reach a substantial volume of customers. Toyota"s target for the next 4 years is 3 lakh - 3.5 lakh units.
