Toyota Etios Sales Expected To Breach 100,000 Units

Toyota has also said it would be increasing the production capacity in India to 210,000 vehicles per year next year from the current 150,000. The carmaker has entered India's volume car sector for the first time. The Toyota Etios was its first small sedan while the Etios Liva is its first hatchback in India. Toyota has claimed it has invested 4.9 billion Yen to increase its production volumes.
Toyota appears to be very confident about the Toyota Etios and the Etios Liva. It is certainly a tough task to sell 100,000 units of a newly launched car and Toyota's targets indicate the amount of confidence the Japanese carmaker has in its products.
Toyota currently builds the Corolla, Innova and the Fortuner in India. The Toyota Etios and the Etios Liva are the latest models to join them. With a starting price of just Rs.3.99 lakhs the Etios Liva has openly challenged the market dominance of other small cars such as the Maruti Swift, Ritz, Hyundai i10 and the Volkswagen Vento.
