Toyota Launches Etios Liva From Rs3.99 Lakhs

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa while speaking to reporters during the launch said: “ The company, which is present in India through a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group, has invested Rs 3,200 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Bangalore with an initial installed capacity of 70,000 units per annum. With Liva we will now be a complete manufacturer in India, offering a full range of products including the luxury SUV Prado... Liva is a very useful stylish and dynamic car."
Toyota which had launched the Etios sedan last year had to delay the launch of the Etios Liva after its production was hampered globally by the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Toyota has finally entered the Indian small car market with the Etios Liva. The Starting price of Rs3.99 lakh for the basic model will even encourage first time car buyers to choose it. Add Toyota's brand image and focus on quality The Etios Liva hatchback is certain to make a dent in the sales of the Maruti Swift and Ritz, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra.
The Etios Liva will be available in four variants - Liva J, Liva G, Liva V and Liva VX. It will be powered by a 1.3-litre engine capable of developing 80bhp and 104 Nm of torque. The Toyota Etios Liva comes with several user friendly features such as a standard cooled 13 liter glove box, 2-DIN stereo with volume controls on steering, and new age safety features such as airbags, ABS and EBD. Toyota has claimed a fuel economy of 18.31 kilometres per litre.
The Etios has been a huge success for Toyota and the carmaker the Liva to follow suit. Expecting greater demand, the carmaker has already plans to boost production capacity at its plant in Bengaluru. Mr Nakagawa said: “"We will increase the production of the second plant from 70,000 units to 1,20,000 units to shorten the waiting period for Etios and meet future demand of Liva." Speaking about sales of the Etios sedan, Toyota Kirloskar Motor DMD Marketing Sandeep Singh said: “The Etios has been very well received by our customers across the market. We have delivered more than 20,000 cars as on date."
