Tata Nano On Its Way To Mozambique

The Tata Nano could be assembled in Mozambique according to reports from the east African nation. Mozambique"s Industry and Trade minister, Armando Inroga has said Tata Motors and the Government were in advanced talks over the Indian carmaker investing in the country.

The Minister said Tata Motors had already sent one Tata Nano to Mozambique to test if the car was compatible with the country's roads. He also said a textile factory in the region of Zambezia was identified as a likely location for the assembly of the Tata Nano.

There has been no official announcement by Tata Motors with regards to it setting up an assembly plant in Mozambique. Mozambique will be the first country apart from India in which the Tata Nano will be assembled if the deal is finalised. The Indian carmaker has already started exporting the Tata Nano to Sri Lanka.
