Tata Nano A Big Hit In Nepal

Tata Nano
The world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano has emerged as a big hit in the Himalayan nation of Nepal. Tata Motors recently launched the small car with much fanfare recently. It had also organised an endurance tour in which two Tata Nano travelled throughout Nepal. This even was organised to publicise the reliability of the Nano.

The most recent news on the Nano from Nepal is that bookings at Tata Motors' showrooms have been well above expectations. There have been more than 200 bookings within three days of Tata Motors opening the bookings. The Indian small car has been successful in gaining attention despite costing more than seven lakh Nepalese Rupees. The price of the Nano has shot up due to the high import costs.

There have been heavy crowds wanting to see the Tata Nano at showrooms despite the Nano's high price due to import duties. Bookings for the Nano have been consistently high.

The Tata Nano has also been a sales success in Sri Lanka where it is also being used as a taxi. Tata Motors is looking at international markets to boost the Nano's sales as sales in India have not been consistent.
