Tata Motors Gets Order For 1,111 Trucks

Tata Motors' trucks division has received an order of 1,111 trucks from Surat based Siddivinayak Logistics Ltd. (SVLL). The order is estimated to be worth Rs. 150 crore. However Tata Motors has not disclosed the value of the deal.

Tata Motors Head - Sales & Marketing (M&HCV Trucks), Mr Vinod Sahay, said: “We will be commencing deliveries in this month and plan to complete the order by the end of this financial year."

SVLL founder RC Baid said his company had been buying Tata Motors' medium and light commercial vehicles since 1988. He also said the company was impressed by the quality of the Tata Motors' trucks along with the extensive service division. Mr Baid said his company would continue its association with Tata Motors and said the current order was a result of this decision. The Company which operates in different segments wants to use Tata Prima carriers to transport farm fresh fruits and vegetables.
