Tata Motors, TVS & Yamaha Sales Increase!
It said that in April month, the homegrown company reported a 1.24% increase in passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market to 23,387 units from 23,099 units in the same period last year. And the sales of small car Nano increased by 184% to 10,012 units during April month. TVS Motors, the automotive maker made 14% growth in overall sales for April 2011, propelled by the company's scooter sales and international business besides substantial growth in the three-wheeler segment. TVS has registered sales of 167,744 units as against 147,172 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
It added that the sales of scooter "led the growth," increasing by 31% with sales of 35,074 units compared to 26,860 units. Sales of domestic two-wheeler accounted for 141,619 units in April 2011 against 125,471 in the corresponding month of 2010, recording a growth of 13%. India Yamaha Motor, the two-wheeler maker has registered a 38.1% increase in its total sales at 34,476 units in the month of April as compared to the corresponding period a year ago. Yamaha Motor said that the company had sold 24,968 units in the same month previous year. The company's April sales in domestic market stood at 25,817 units as against 16,869 units in the same month last year, up 53%.
