Tata Nano which created sensation as the world cheapest car has revived its sale volume in recent months after undergoing a nightmare in the months of November and December 2010. This has made the company to increase the production to 20000 monthly units for this fiscal. In March the company sold 8707 units to reach the all time peak number of 9000 units achieved in July last. The highest volume in the last calendar year was in August with 8103 units which declined to 509 units in November due to safety cries of fire incidents.

The company has now shifted the production to its Sanand in Gujarat from Uttarkhand. The official statement from the company said that Nano has now reached the customers across the society of which the two wheeler customers have been in the majority. The current volume of production is 15000 units per month and it is to be raised to 18000-20000.

The Sanand facility delivers 9000 -10000 units a month to the annual installed capacity of 2.5 lakh units. Tata Motors has had a tough time in restoring the lost vigor of its sale in Nano by offering large incentives of sales and service including 100% finance at easy interest rates. From 5784 units in December, the sale rose to 6703 units in January, and 8262 units in February. The company attributed the revival to the car's quality perceptions and the company focused this in an aggressive campaigns.
