Reversal Of Fortune For Tata Motors

By Anjana Ns

The once bitten car maker Tata Motors was put into surprise by the local folks of Singur in West Bengal. These were the same people who resisted the company from establishing its unit for Nano. However, Tata had earlier assured to return the land to the people who would have lost their grounds in the process.

The company"s VP for Govt Affairs and Collaborations said that he would be visiting the affected people in some occasion. The President of the Singur Shilpa Vikash Committee had earlier wrote a letter to him offering the change of mind of the locals and assuring all sort of co-operations.

The President made clear that the situation had been different pre-December 2009. He hinted that the locals have made up their mind to do good for Tata Motors in their venture. Tata had to close down the facility after nearing 85 percent of the project work. This was really unacceptable, said the president. The move comes after the ruling CPI (M) made efforts to make liaison efforts for bringing financial flow to the state and job opportunities. Tata Motors too is brushing up its mind in this regard.
