Tata Motors June Sales Falls By 0.7 Per Cent

Tata Motors total sales this financial year stood at 1,87,946 units. Commercial vehicle sales have always aided Tata Motors. This June Tata's commercial vehicle sales increased 13 per cent to 39,271 units. Sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 18 per cent to 13,197 units. Medium and heavy commercial vehicles registered a growth of six per cent after selling16,074 units.
Tata Motors said cumulative sales of commercial vehicles for this financial year was up 18 per cent at 115,172 units.
Passenger vehicles continued to show weakened domestic sales in June. Tata Motors said sales of Tata branded cars and Fiat cars fell 22 per cent to 23,499 units from previous June's 29,948 units. Tata Motors passenger vehicle sales stood at 21,993 units while Fiat's sales accounted for 1,506 units.
Here is a model wise distribution of sales. The Tata Nano suffered a sales decline of 29 per cent to 5,451 units in June 2011. The Indica range of cars saw a decline of nine per cent to 8,188 units while the Indigo saw its sales fall by 35 per cent to 4,882 units. Sales of larger vehicles such as the Tata Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture declined four per cent to 3,742 units.
Tata Motors saw its exports grow by 21 per cent to 5,095 vehicles in June 2011. Cumulative exports during this financial year rose 32 per cent to 10,747 units. Tata Motors continued to benefit from improving sales of Jaguar and Land Rover.
