Tata Motors Plant Wins Golden Peacock Award

India auto major Tata Motors has been awarded the 'Golden Peacock Environment Management Award' for the year 2011. Tata Motor's commercial vehicle plant in Jamshedpur is the recipient of this prestigious award. The Jamshedpur plant was Tata Motors first vehicle manufacturing plant in India.

The award named after the Indian national bird recognizes corporate excellence. Tata Motors' Jamshedpur plant was evaluated for the award by eminent jury headed by former Chief Justice of India and member UN Human Rights Commission Justice P N Bhagwati. Tata Motors has expressed its happiness over it being chosen for this prestigious award.

Tata Motors received the 2011 Golden Peacock Award at the 13th World Congress on Environmental Management and union Home minister P.Chidambaram presented the award. The Golden Peacock Award has emerged as a hallmark of corporate excellence because of the transparency and thorough evaluation process.
