Tata Motors Global Sales Up 11%

Global sales of Tata Motors commercial vehicles from its subsidiaries - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - stood at 44,070 units in May 2011 marking a growth of 20%. Cumulative sales for this year stand at 85,249 units registering a growth of 20 per cent. In terms of passenger vehicles, Tata Motors' global sales in May stood at 44,181 units and cumulative sales for the year stood at 90,121 units marking a growth of 4%.
Jaguar Land Rover sales in May 2011 was 22,296 vehicles which is 17 per cent higher than the sales registered in the corresponding period last year. While Jaguar sold 4,221 vehicles, Land Rover garnered sales of 18,075 units. Jaguar sales are down 18 per cent while Land Rover Sales are up 30 per cent. Cumulative sales of Jaguar and Land Rover is 41,732 units.
Global sales of Tata Motors' passenger vehicles and the distribution off take in India of Fiat cars were at 21,885 units in May which is 9 per cent lower than the sales achieved in May 2010. Also cumulative sales for the fiscal are down by two per cent at at 48,389 units.
