Tata Motors Posts Sober Global Sales In June
Tata Motors' luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover's sales were up by one per cent at 20,358 units. Jaguar on its own saw sales of its sedans drop by 40 per cent to 4,038 units. Land Rover on the other hand reported a 22 per cent increase in sales at 16,320 units.
Tata Motors in its statement said sales of its passenger vehicles was down by 12 per cent at 44,561 units. Tata Motors' commercial vehicles have consistently delivering better sales performance than passenger cars. Sales of commercial vehicles have increased by 13 per cent to 45,285units.
We had previously reported that Tata Motors' June sales in India had dropped by one per cent. However passenger car sales have declined considerably. Sales of the Nano Small car fell by 29 per cent in June.
The Tata Motors Group's global sale includes Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata Motors' passenger vehicles are from its own brand along with Jaguar and Land Rover.
